Jio Platforms Q2 profit rises 13.7% to Rs 8,389 crore in first results after listing
Jio Platforms' September-quarter profit grew 13.7% YoY and revenue rose 11.4% to Rs 40,475 crore, days after its stock market debut.
Jio Platforms, the telecom and digital arm backed by Reliance Industries, posted a 13.7% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit attributable to owners to Rs 8,389 crore for the July–September quarter (Q2FY27). This is the company’s first quarterly report since it listed on the stock exchanges earlier this week.
Revenue from operations climbed 11.4% to Rs 40,475 crore, compared with Rs 36,332 crore a year ago. Growth came from new subscribers, higher earnings from broadband and digital services, and a small increase in average revenue per user (ARPU).
Operating performance was stronger than the top line. EBITDA rose about 17% to Rs 21,879 crore, helped by revenue growth and operating leverage. On a sequential basis, profit was up from Rs 7,764 crore in the June quarter.
The results come right after a strong market debut. Jio Platforms listed on Wednesday and closed nearly 27% above its IPO price of Rs 1,119, making it India’s second most valuable listed company by market value. On Friday, the stock ended 0.57% higher at Rs 1,431.20 on the BSE.
Management said it sees room to add around 340 million mobile broadband users and plans a selective, asset-light approach to growing overseas.
