Editorial Policy
This policy explains how ArthaWire decides what to publish and how we keep it accurate. It is maintained by Sahadev Halder, founder and editor.
Choosing stories and sources
We cover financial news that is important to readers in India and globally: results of large listed companies, IPOs and listings, regulator and central-bank decisions, market moves, deals and insolvencies. We find stories by following established financial publications, stock-exchange announcements and regulators.
For each story we prefer primary sources: the company's own results or press release, its filing with the NSE or BSE, and documents from SEBI, the RBI or other regulators. Reports from news organisations are used for context and are always linked. On article pages, primary documents are listed first and marked "Primary". We do not publish rumours or unnamed-source claims, stock tips, or "stocks to buy" lists.
Verification
- Figures are checked against the company or exchange filing wherever one exists. When sources disagree, we use the filing and explain the difference.
- We label each figure: standalone or consolidated, revenue from operations or gross revenue, EBITDA or net profit, the quarter and financial year, and the unit.
- Strong words such as "record", "worst" or "crash" are used only when the source supports them.
- Facts and interpretation are kept apart. Views of analysts or executives are attributed by name. Our own reading of the numbers is marked, for example "In our view", or appears under "What to watch next".
- Every article shows when it was published, when it was last updated, when the underlying event happened if that was earlier, and who reviewed it.
How we use AI
We use AI software (Anthropic's Claude) to find candidate stories, to draft articles from the source documents and to run automatic checks (numbers against sources, copied text, missing links). AI drafts are saved as hidden drafts and are not published automatically: a person reviews each one against the sources and publishes it. Featured images are either free-licensed real photographs (credited, with their licence) or a data card generated from the story's headline number; we do not use AI-generated photographs.
Independence, advertising and sponsorship
ArthaWire is funded by advertising. Advertisers have no say over what we cover. We do not accept payment for news stories. If we ever publish sponsored or paid content, it will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" at the top of the page and kept separate from news. Ads are labelled "Advertisement".
Corrections
If a published story has a factual error, we fix it and add a dated correction note at the end of the article explaining what changed, and the "Updated" time at the top changes. Small fixes that do not change the meaning (typos, formatting) are made without a note. To report an error, email [email protected] with the article link; we aim to reply within two working days.
No investment advice
Our stories are information, not advice. We never give buy, sell or hold recommendations or price targets. See our Disclaimer.
