Petronet LNG Q2 results: profit at Rs 1,235 crore; Rs 7 interim dividend

Petronet LNG Ltd’s standalone profit after tax rose 53% year on year to Rs 1,235 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27), according to results filed on November 2, 2026. The same board meeting declared an interim dividend of Rs 7 per share. The Petronet LNG Q2 results also show profit up 9.1% from the June quarter, when it was Rs 1,132.7 crore.

Petronet LNG Q2 results: key numbers

The figures are standalone, in Rs crore.

Measure (Rs crore)Q2 FY27Q2 FY26Change
Revenue from operations7,20011,009-35%
Total income7,43211,246-34%
Cost of materials consumed5,1469,449-46%
Profit after tax1,23580653%

Against the June quarter, revenue rose 30%, from Rs 5,554 crore, while profit rose 9.1%.

Why profit rose while revenue fell

Revenue is 35% lower than a year earlier, yet profit is 53% higher. The filing shows the cost line moving with revenue: cost of materials consumed fell by almost half. Depreciation fell to Rs 187 crore from Rs 211 crore, and finance costs fell to Rs 50 crore from Rs 61 crore.

Profit before tax rose to Rs 1,659 crore from Rs 1,083 crore. The quarter also includes a net impairment loss of Rs 135 crore, against Rs 157 crore a year earlier. The results filing does not give volume figures or a company explanation for the fall in revenue.

Dividend: what the Rs 7 means

The interim dividend is Rs 7 per share on a face value of Rs 10, which is 70% of face value. The company said the record date and payment date will be intimated later. A record date is the cut-off for shareholders who are on the register to receive a dividend. Investors who want the payout should watch for that next filing.

What to watch next

The next filing will set the record and payment dates for the Rs 7 dividend. Watch also whether profit holds up in the December quarter, now that revenue is well below last year’s level. For more coverage, see more results news.
