Berger Paints Q2 results: key numbers

The figures below are standalone, in Rs crore, from the unaudited results.

Why Berger’s profit fell despite higher revenue

The filing figures show costs rising faster than revenue. Cost of materials consumed rose to Rs 1,660.18 crore from Rs 1,315.82 crore, and total expenses rose to Rs 2,563.01 crore from Rs 2,247.01 crore. Depreciation also increased to Rs 96.79 crore from Rs 85.92 crore. The part of the filing we reviewed does not state the company’s own reason, so this is our reading of the numbers.

One-time items

There was no exceptional item in the quarter’s standalone results: profit before exceptional item and tax equals profit before tax at Rs 218.18 crore. Earnings per share was Rs 1.40 (not annualised), against Rs 1.51 a year earlier.

Compared with the previous quarter

In the June 2026 quarter, standalone revenue was Rs 3,226.68 crore and net profit was Rs 368.68 crore, so the latest quarter was much lower sequentially. For the six months ended September 30, 2026, standalone revenue from operations was Rs 5,976.74 crore against Rs 5,321.09 crore.

What to watch next

In our view, raw material costs and margins are the key to track in the next quarter. See more results news.
