Why Mphasis profit grew
The presentation says direct revenue grew 3.5% from the previous quarter and 11.3% from a year ago in constant currency, which strips out exchange-rate moves. Banking and financial services, the largest vertical, grew 15.0% year on year on a direct basis. Mphasis credited wallet-share gains and new deals. Technology, media and telecom grew 10.9% from the previous quarter as new deals ramped up.
Total contract value (TCV) of new deals was $466 million in the quarter, with 66% of it AI-led, the company said. It signed five large deals. Higher other income also lifted profit, as it nearly doubled to Rs 147.2 crore.
One-time items
There were no exceptional items in Q2 FY27 or Q2 FY26. The acquired TAP business, which owns the Continuum AI platform, added a loss of Rs 34.2 crore to consolidated profit in the first half. After the quarter, Mphasis received a Canadian GST/HST demand of CAD 6.60 million (Rs 44.6 crore), which it is still evaluating.
What to watch next
For FY27, Mphasis guides for low double-digit revenue growth and an operating margin of 14.75% to 15.75%. A $28 million deal to take over a Red Oak Tech customer contract has not yet closed. Days sales outstanding, a measure of how long clients take to pay, rose to 113 days from 89 a year earlier. For other company earnings, see more results news.
