| Net profit after tax | 72.6 | 85.5 | -15.1% |
EBITDA margin, the share of revenue left as operating profit, narrowed to 21.8% from 24.5%. Against the June quarter, profit rose from Rs 57.14 crore.
Why profit fell despite higher revenue
The filing does not include management commentary, so the reasons below are our reading of the cost lines. Costs grew faster than revenue: employee cost rose 23.5% to Rs 106.7 crore, other expenditure rose 45.7% to Rs 107.0 crore and depreciation rose 52.5% to Rs 16.0 crore. Finance costs were flat at Rs 13.9 crore. Tax was Rs 31.1 crore against Rs 23.6 crore, so the tax bill also grew. The filing shows no exceptional items.
Machines, orders and capacity
According to CNBC-TV18’s report on the company’s investor presentation, Jyoti CNC dispatched 1,900 machines in the quarter, its highest in a three-month period, and order inflow was more than Rs 800 crore. The outstanding order book stood at Rs 5,082 crore on 30 September 2026. The company also received approval for a Rs 1,020.65 crore investment over five years at Rajkot under the electronics component manufacturing scheme, eligible for up to 25% capital subsidy.
CNBC-TV18 said the stock was trading 2.1% lower at Rs 921.6 during the session on 3 November.
What to watch next
In our view, the figure to follow is the EBITDA margin: revenue and order book are growing, but margins need to stop narrowing for profit to keep pace. See more quarterly results.
