Why the profit is thin despite higher revenue
The filing does not include management commentary, so this is our reading of the cost lines. Costs rose along with sales: advertisement and promotion was Rs 197.2 crore against Rs 93.5 crore, finance costs were Rs 27.2 crore against Rs 15.7 crore, and depreciation was Rs 57.1 crore against Rs 25.1 crore. Together with higher employee and other expenses, these absorbed most of the extra revenue, leaving profit before tax at Rs 7.6 crore.
Standalone figures
For the parent company alone, revenue from operations was Rs 166.8 crore against Rs 156.0 crore, and net profit was Rs 11.6 crore against Rs 7.6 crore. The consolidated and standalone numbers differ because the consolidated statement includes subsidiaries.
What to watch next
The company said its trading window stays closed until 5 November 2026. In our view, the key point is whether profit improves from a low base as promotion and finance costs settle. More in our results news.
